Whether you’re prepping for your first 5K or your fifth marathon, you want running gear you can count on. Running shoes and clothing made with GORE-TEX product technologies are designed to help you run with confidence, no matter the conditions.
Comfort is key, especially when running conditions are less than pleasant. GORE-TEX product technologies are durably waterproof, windproof, and highly breathable to protect you from soggy socks and wind chill on your runs.
At the heart of GORE-TEX fabric is a porous membrane with billions of microscopic holes, small enough to block rain and wind, while releasing water vapor as you naturally sweat, keeping you dry from the inside and out.
All GORE-TEX products are painstakingly tested for real-world use prior to production and are protected and backed for the life of the product by the GORE-TEX GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY® promise.

How to stay comfortable and safe on wet, cold, or snowy runs with the right running gear.
Baselayers (Shirts, Bottoms, & Socks)
Start with next to skin layers – make sure they are a lightweight wicking material like merino wool or polyester. Do not use cotton as it will hold moisture causing chafing and accelerated heat loss.
Waterproof or Windproof?
APPAREL: Depending on the conditions a fully waterproof jacket like a GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY style will persistently shed rain and block wind. If you are in a dry climate with cold winds – a style with GORE windstopper a non-waterproof technology using a windproof highly breathable lining.
FOOTWEAR: Running shoes with a GORE-TEX lining protect you from soggy socks and numb toes. All running shoes with GORE-TEX must meet a high breathability rating before production to ensure comfort in high aerobic activities.
How has GORE-TEX evolved for runners?
GORE has developed new technologies in recent years with high aerobic athletes in mind.
GORE Invisible Fit Footwear Technology
Developed specifically for road and trail running shoes, Invisible Fit bonds GORE-TEX membrane directly to the shoe upper rather than sewing in a separate lining or bootie. This makes the construction lighter, more flexible, and best of all, offers the same fit and feel of the in-line style of the shoe.

GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY Jacket Technology
Developed specifically for runners and cyclists. GORE ShakeDry is the lightest and most breathable jacket fabric GORE has ever developed. There is no face fabric which means no wet-out or reapplication of DWR is needed. The jacket will shed water persistently and is amazingly light and packable.

Not a single technology, but a new product brand under the GORE-TEX name. INFINIUM products will include non-waterproof technologies developed by GORE for activities when durable waterproofing is not essential. These products will be easily identified by the INFINIUM Diamond.
Current GORE technologies like WINDSTOPPER will now fall under this brand and will also be a launchpad for new technologies and products from GORE and our partners to make lighter more breathable gear for high aerobic end uses when waterproof is not essential.
